Safe Kiwi

Safekiwi aims to provide a safe-haven for buyers & sellers and to formalise agreements to protect both parties in a monetary transaction. This is achieved by use of a simple and cost efficient online escrow and contract service.

Sparks were approached by Mike Pero in 2009 with a business proposal for a secure online Escrow service, the catch, TV spots had already been purchased, interviews booked, and the site had to be delivered in 6 weeks.

This required a dedicated team at Sparks to be formed to map out the business logic and technical requirements for signoff by the client. This team of senior creatives and developers delivered a beta site in 3 weeks for testing, and the live site a day ahead of schedule.

Sparks have used Drupal to manage the escrow process from transaction creation, through to releasing funds from Safekiwi’s Trust account with Public Trust. The website is the hub of communication between the parties of the transaction and SafeKiwi administrators, as well as the Trustees.

Since launch the site has continued to evolve, with the addition of a preferential supplier service and foreign currency escrow.
