Kea is a Global talent network connecting around 30,000 New Zealanders worldwide. Sparks was involved in all areas of the redevelopment covering website design, creation of new Drupal CMS with migration of all member data from an existing Touchpoint system, integration with third party email messaging (Mailchimp) and event management (Eventbrite) providers.

The main goal for the rebuild was to increase member interaction, re-powering underutilised functions on the old website. This included community tools such as member to member private messaging on the site, ability to post news, events and opportunities as well as the ability for New Zealand companies to target promotions and ads to Kiwis in specific countries.

The new build has also enhanced the email communications, supporting list segmentation and giving regional admins the ability to self-organise email operations. Events managed through the site are an opportunity for members to meet and network face to face, and the main driver for building membership.

The website has a multi level paid subscription base that ranges from free ‘email only’ accounts through to ‘Corporate Premium’ accounts that allow members to post company profiles.
